The new 2nd generation iPod shuffle was introduced at Apple's "It's Showtime" event in San Francisco yesterday.
1GB iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs with a cool rear alligator-style clip for easy attachment to your clothes (or wherever you wish). It also includes Apple's new headphones and a new iPod shuffle dock.
THE LOOK
The new shuffle is lighter in weight and in size.
The face of the new iPod shuffle has a five-button ring that looks like iPod nano and 5G Click Wheels - except all you only get volume, track, and play/pause controls.
You can get the shuffle in silver anodized aluminum with a white Control Pad. No other colors have been announced.
THE HEADPHONES
New iPod earbuds lighter and more comfortable than the past generation because of the silicone rubber found at the interface point between your ears and the earbuds. It’s also easier to hear bass because they seal a little better than their predecessors. You can buy the headphones separately for $29.
THE DOCK
All data and power transfer is handled through the headphone port, which you can access for charging and synchronization via Apple’s new iPod shuffle dock.
The dock has nothing more than a plug for the headphone port inside, and a USB 2.0 cable coming out of its rear; it is now mandatory for charging and syncing the shuffle.
While you are syncing and if you have more than 240 songs in your iTunes library, iTunes can autofill your iPod shuffle so you can get a new musical experience every time.
