Apple has announced a revision of the "fifth-generation iPod" that now comes in 30GB and 80GB capacities.
While cosmetically similar to the video iPods released last October, they get 3 major hardware upgrades: capacity, superior battery life, and brightness (60% better).
INTERFACE UPGRADES
As with the new iPod nano, the 5G iPod has gained an advanced search menu, which lets you dial in alphabetical letters using the click wheel to look at your entire iPod media library for whatever you want to find.
If you’re a fan of live albums, classical works, or anything that sounds best when it’s continuous, iPod supports gapless playback that seamlessly transitions from one song to another.
GAMES
All fifth-generation models can now play games (which can be downloaded from the iTunes Store for $4.99 a piece). Play Pac Man, Tetris and more with click wheel-ready control schemes!
EARBUDS
Apple now bundles each 5G iPod with its new iPod earbuds, which are lighter, more comfortable, and more bass-heavy than before. Apple will also sell these earbuds separately for $29.
